Once again, it has been a while. There has been a lot going on both professionally and personally. I have been keeping busy trying to keep my head above water. As the Holiday approaches and the year comes to an end, there are a lot of demands on one's time.
I played at the Rancho Relaxo Open Stage on Monday which was a lot of fun.I played a couple of original songs (Don't Look Back and Rabbits in The Clouds) and closed out with Norwegian Wood, one of my favourite Beatles songs. An appropriate song to play, as within the last week and a bit, we saw the anniversaries of the deaths of John Lennon and George Harrison. This song was a signature for both of them, so it worked well. I also had the pleasure of being joined onstage for this song by Derek Downham of Grindig, who sang harmony and played Harrison's Sitar part on Slide guitar. It was a nice surprise to have him jump up on stage and a real pleasure to play with him.
I'll post some pictures when I get a chance. The audience was small but enthusiastic. I was joined by Uni and Pamela, so we had lot's of fun, as worlds collided for me (old friends meeting new, but with these two, I knew it would be a blast). We joined up with some friends from the Grindig Message Board, so a great time was had by all.
The next Open Stage is Monday December 9th. I think more people will be out to this one. I know that I will!
