Damn. It's been a long time since I posted here. I've got to get better at keeping this active. We're still in the middle of our late winter, although it is supposed to get better by next weekend. I'll believe THAT when I see it.

There's a lot to look forward to over the next few weeks. The Spider Man movie opens in just 4 weeks, and then there's a new Star Wars movie coming out just shortly after that. Of course, a full court press has already started for both films.

Ewan McGregor has said that this movie is much better that the Phantom Menace, which he didn't think was that great. Interestingly enough, when it came out, he was out promoting it as though it were the second coming (according to legions of fans it was). Now he's distancing himself from it possibly to assuage the Star Wars fans, who behave much like the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons calling it the "worst episode ever."

Is it possible for any film to weather the kind of hype these two films have been receiving? Probably not. There will be people who love them and those who hate them. I for one am going in to enjoy a couple of movies I've been looking forward to for some time. I'll just have to try to put the hype out of my mind.
